FDA Advises Restaurants and Retailers Not to Serve or Sell Potentially Contaminated Raw Oysters from Canada (April 2022)
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Public Health Agency of Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and state and local partners, are investigating a multi-state outbreak of Norovirus illnesses linked to raw oysters.

The Third Synthesis Inc DBA Chicago Sweet Connection Bakery is issuing a voluntary recall for fresh baked Coffee Cakes (Various Flavors) and fresh baked Paczkis (Various Flavors) produced between February 21st, 2022 to February 23rd, 2022 because the label does not declare Egg, Milk, and Wheat. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to Egg, Milk, and Wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The labeling issue has been corrected for products produced after February 23rd.
- Coffee cakes produced between February 21st 2022 and February 23rd 2022. The affected products may have been consumed between February 22nd, 2022 until February 28th, 2022. They expired on February 28th, 2022.
- Paczkis produced between February 21st 2022 and February 23rd 2022. The affected products may have been consumed between February 22nd, 2022 until February 26th, 2022. They expired on February 26th, 2022.

"Flagship Food Group of Eagle, Idaho is voluntarily recalling a limited number of cases of frozen cauliflower, TJ Farms Select brand, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women..."
"The cauliflower was imported from China, and the affected lot code and UPC are located on the back panel lower left corner of the bag. The impacted product was distributed in PA, TN, and WI. The recalled product is described below:

The product was distributed nationwide and is sold in 16 Oz. jars. The jars are labeled "Al kanater Tahini." Lot codes are printed on the jar. Product code, description, lot code, and UPC information are noted below.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the Al Kanater Brand Tahini.
FYI: Tahini is a paste made from crushed sesame seeds and is a staple in many cuisines, especially in the Mediterranean and the Middle Eastern Countries.Outbreak Investigation of E. Coli O157:H7 - Spinach

The FDA and CDC, in collaboration with state and local partners, are investigating illnesses in a multistate outbreak of E. coli O157:H7. According to the CDC, as of November 15, 2021, 14 people infected with the outbreak strain of E. coli O157:H7 have been reported from nine states.
